Lydd Speedway Returning

Malcolm Smith has announced to all club members this week that Lydd Speedway will re-open it’s doors for private hire fixtures until the end of the season. Malcolm and Angie will take over the day to day running of the track and club. The Club’s Race Meetings and Practice sessions will return but not until 2020 due to equipment damaged at the track.

Malcolm had emailed all the members on 8th August to let them know the club had seized activity, sighting poor atmosphere, drop outs at events and lack of support as the reason for closure. After twenty-three years it seemed the smell of methanol had graced the marshes of Romney for the last time, just as the flame of the Falcons was at its brightest. The fantastic news is very welcomed in the Speedway Community especially after the sad closure of Stoke’s Loomer Road just last weekend.

Malcolm and Angie wish to extend their thanks to all those that have given their help and support before and after the brief closure and look forward to seeing everyone again in a more pleasant atmosphere going forwards.

More Information and Details to follow.
